Monday 16 August 2010Major recruitment drive launched at Riviera
Just two months after exiting administration in June this year, Australian powerboat manufacturer Riviera has embarked on a major recruitment drive at its Coomera facility in southeast Queensland.
The company is now looking to hire experienced tradespeople and production employees to work on a new 10-day production line that officially started this month. Several employees who were made redundant in the wake of last year's financial crisis have since been rehired, as well as eight former employees of Mustang Marine.
The new production line is in response to increased demand, says Riviera. In June, CEO John Anderson said that the company had achieved a weekly sales run rate of 2.3 new boats per week and is now forecasting annual production of over 100 new boats during the next financial year.
Riviera is one of Australia's largest boat manufacturers and exporters, offering 20 different models from 11m-26m (36ft-85ft) across four model series — Flybridge, Sport Yacht, Offshore Express and Motor Yachts.
