Diesel Engineer
Job description
Diesel Engine Condition Monitoring(DECM) Program Support. The Propulsion Machinery Branch at the Engineering Logistics Center has the responsibility to advise the Coast Guard fleet about sustainment (in-service) diesel engine issues. The DECM program was created to reduce reliance upon regularly scheduled overhauls in an effort to reduce costs and/or improve diesel engine availability. The DECM program is consistent with the RCM philosophy that maintenance should only be accomplished when an objective evidence of need has been established. The ELC requires contractor support to coordinate and administer the DECM program.Areas of experience: Ten years field experience maintaining medium and slow speed diesels. Five years experience using predictive/diagnostic maintenance technology directing diesel repairs. Bachelor of Science in engineering (or closely related subject) or 10 years of directly applicable experience
