Boat Repair Yard Mechanic/Electrician and Supervisor

We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, ambitious professional who is successful at wearing multiple hats, problem solving and thrives working on boat repair projects that are never repetitive.
Key Duties:
Perform and oversee all mechanical, electrical and plumbing repairs/projects including assembly and installation of engines, electronics, bow thrusters, plumbing and hardware.
Manage/Supervise Yard employees, delegating jobs, answering questions, providing and receiving feedback and executing employee reviews.
Oversee Yard safety program ensuring each project is executed safely and efficiently.
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree from Maritime Academy.
In depth knowledge and experience working on gas and diesel engines with ability to diagnose.
Stern drive knowledge/experience a plus.
Expertise in electronics and wiring systems, repair and installation.
Expertise in boat plumbing a plus, repair and installation.
Welding experience a plus (steel, stainless and aluminum).
Expertise operating the following equipment: hand and air tools such as saws, drills, screwdrivers, grinders, polishers/buffers and other similar tools.
Must be able to lift at least 100lbs, climb ladders, work in small compartments/spaces, work on feet full workday, able to wear personal protective equipment such as respirator, safety glasses, hearing protection.
Plan with and receive direction from owner/manager regarding current and upcoming projects.
Create daily work cards including breaks and lunch times for yard employees.
Make decisions on project execution and provide feedback to owner/ manager including job status, problems, better solutions or recommended adjustments to the plan.
Ensure project work orders are executed as written/outlined and all work is complete and meets MYR standards.
Establish consistent and efficient process for yard employees starting work at the beginning of each day and closing and locking up at the end of each day.
Prepare and participate in yard employee reviews, providing feedback on employee performance.
Assist in overseeing and executing Yard safety program, ensuring employees understand and use the proper protective equipment (PPE).
Able to complete projects in a timely and cost effective manner.
Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screening.
Must be able to work flexible hours if needed.
Must be able and willing to work overtime if needed.
Customer Service oriented.
Good communication skills, both speaking and writing.
Spanish Speaking a plus.
Must be a US Citizen
This is a full-time salary position (M-F; 45-55 hrs/wk) with the following compensation package range:
Base Salary commensurate with experience: Range $46,000 - $64,000 per year.
Bonus/Profit Sharing Incentive Plan = up to 4% of base salary based on semi-annual performance reviews (after probationary period, goals established & reviewed each Feb. & Aug.).
2 weeks (10 days) vacation per year
Health Insurance Benefit = $2536/yr (paid by MYR)
Total Compensation Package Range: $48,536 - $71,558
