Operations Supervisor
Job description
The Department of Marine Installation is a profit centre within the Nexans Energy division. The department is the group’s competency centre for marine installation services, and offers services both nationally and internationally. The department also has the subsea system responsibility within high-voltage submarine power cable projects. The department is located in Oslo, with workshops for maintenance / construction of installation equipment, including submarine trenching units in Halden and Kristiansund. Nexans Norway AS is now looking to strengthen its organization with the following position:Main tasks and responsibilities:
Take the position as onboard “Offshore operations Manager” or “Supervisor” during execution of our projects
- Plan, prepare and execute marine operations, including laying and trenching of subsea high voltage cables and umbilicals.
- Supply operational input during the project engineering phase, including establishing methods and procedures.
- Technical review and suitability survey of vessels and barges
- Operational follow-up of subcontractors and suppliers
- Ensure that project and corporate QA and HSE requirements are implemented throughout the operational phases of a project

Desired qualifications:
- Nautical college/training according to STCW requirements
- Minimum 10 years experience as Master mariner/Mate and/or minimum 5 years experience as Operational Manager/Supervisor of offshore construction operations.
- Experience from cable/umbilical laying and trenching operations would be seen as an advantage.
- Project execution experience
- Strong communication skills, written and oral, Norwegian and English
