Job description |
Due to growth and expansion of our organization we are looking for an enthusiastic and preferably experienced: CHIEF ENGINEER for our fleet in Kazakhstan Responsibilities: The chief engineer is in charge of the engine department. In close co-operation with the first engineer he is responsible for the safe and economical operation of the ship's machinery and all mechanical and electrical items on board and is responsible to the master for the proper functioning of his department. The chief engineer must keep the first engineer advised about the engine room business, as the first engineer should be prepared to take over at any time. He gives the master technical advice and assists him in defining the general guidelines for operating the vessel as a whole. He must keep the master informed about the daily course of things in his department, in particular about deficiencies of the main engines and the other machinery that might endanger the operation of the ship or the safety or could present a risk of marine pollution. The chief engineer is responsible for ensuring that his department at all times complies with the law, the safety and pollution prevention regulations, the master's orders and the guidelines of Wagkaz and the charterer. When he feels that deviation from these rules and guidelines is necessary, he immediately informs the master. He is answerable to the operations manager and the technical manager for his professional conduct and proper maintenance of the vessel's machinery and equipment. We offer you:
