AJ Ship Management GmbH, founded in 2001, is part of the Jebsen Group. Jebsens is a company which maintains interest in globally servicing ocean transportation, ship management and crewing services. The group’s head office is located in Bergen, Norway with subsidiaries and branch offices in USA, UK, Singapore, Philippines, Australia, Japan and Germany. Jebsens’ ship management activities are carried out at two locations; Manila, Philippines and Leer, Germany. Presently AJ Ship Management GmbH  manage 10 bulk carriers of which 9 are belt selfunloaders. Two of the belt unloaders are also equipped for rock dumping off-shore. The office in Leer has the management for 10 vessels and has a staff of 12 employees.

Are you looking for new challenges?
We are  looking for an experienced Technical Superintendent. He shall be responsible for the operation of a group of vessels managed by AJ Ship Management in Leer. The Superintendent reports to the Fleetmanager.

The job covers following areas:

The Superintendent is responsible for the daily running of the vessels which has been assigned to her/him, which means to:

• Monitor vessel’s performance and ensure that the vessels are kept up to standards with regards to maintenance, quality, safety and cost effectiveness and that the vessels comply with relevant rules and regulations.
• Supervising all technical matters for the vessels, including preventive maintenance, servicing, repairing and spares/supplies.
• Planning/supervision of yard works, dry-docking, and services.
• Prepare annual plans and corresponding budgets. Control of assigned budgets.

We are looking for a person with the following qualifications:

• Maritime education / sailing experience as marine engineer.
• Good knowledge of ship operations, ship maintenance, reporting, class matters and governmental regulations.
• Experience with planned maintenance systems.
• 24/7 mentality
• Affinity with figures and costcontrol
• Good verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English.

The Superintendent is expected to visit the vessels frequently.
