Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working with various Staff to develop a series of courses to cover concept design through to preliminary design, and covers the following principle aspects:
• Design concepts
• Classification Rules
• Structural Arrangements Concepts
• Strength Considerations
• Shipbuilding Standards and Quality Control
• Adaprting and developing existing MTS courses to suit ship design staff requiremrnts
• Leading delivery of the program in China
• Supervision and development of support staff and other duties as appointed.
  

ESSENTIAL KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Educated to degree standard or equivalent within a relevant field of Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture
• Experience/working knowledge of current ship design aspects/practices/concepts as applied to the main commercial ship designs such as Tankers, Bulk carriers, Containers. Experince with other design types such as PCTC and LNG would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the princiaples of hull structural rules as applied to main commercial ship designs described above
• Understanding of construction methodologies for vessel types referred to above

DESIREBALE KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Previous training delivery experience
• Competent with Microsoft Office applciations (word, Powerpoint, etc) and relevant software applications
