Ship-Design Training Program Leader
Job description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working with various Staff to develop a series of courses to cover concept design through to preliminary design, and covers the following principle aspects:
- Design concepts
- Classification Rules
- Structural Arrangements Concepts
- Strength Considerations
- Shipbuilding Standards and Quality Control
- Adaprting and developing existing MTS courses to suit ship design staff requiremrnts
- Leading delivery of the program in China
- Supervision and development of support staff and other duties as appointed.
ESSENTIAL KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Educated to degree standard or equivalent within a relevant field of Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture
- Experience/working knowledge of current ship design aspects/practices/concepts as applied to the main commercial ship designs such as Tankers, Bulk carriers, Containers. Experince with other design types such as PCTC and LNG would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of the princiaples of hull structural rules as applied to main commercial ship designs described above - Understanding of construction methodologies for vessel types referred to above
DESIREBALE KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous training delivery experience
- Competent with Microsoft Office applciations (word, Powerpoint, etc) and relevant software applications
KEY PERSONAL COMPETENCIES
- Ability to communicate in Mandarin
- Ability to handle client relationships effectively
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Self-motivated and pro-active
